‘My Dad Sent Cops After Me Multiple Times’- Davido Opens Up

Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke, aka Davido,
has given shocking revelation over his music career, stated how his dad chased after him with cops.

He made the statement during an interview in New York.

Davido revealed that his father, Chief Adedeji Adeleke, was initially against his music career and wanted him to focus on his education.

In his statement, he mentioned that his father sent the police to arrest him and disrupt shows he was billed to perform at. Adding that his father would see a billboard advertising his shows and send the police to arrest everyone associated with the show, including the promoters.
However, one incident made him realize that he had become famous. While in police custody, the officer who had the keys to his cell received a call and heard Davido’s music playing in the background. Upon realizing that he was the artist behind the song, the officer let him go.

Davido also shared that his father’s opposition to his music career was not because he hated music but because he wanted him to focus on his education.

He added that his father now supports his music as he’s his biggest fan, frequently calling him to ask what he plans to do next.

Despite the challenges he faced in the early days of his career, Davido has gone on to become one of the biggest music stars in Africa, with hits such as “Fem” and “Fall” topping music charts across the continent. His latest
