There has been a rumor about how Mikel Obi’s decision to represent Nigeria at the 2016 Olympics cost him his place at Chelsea under the then Chelsea coach, Antonio Conte.

The former Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi, who happened to be the second-longest serving player at Stamford Bridge after John Terry, opted to play for the Dream Team VI in Rio that year instead of participating in pre-season preparations with Chelsea.
